Have you seen some articles referring to single youths who don’t want to have a commitment relationship and also are not interested in any form of sexual relationship?
Their points are – “relationship is difficult to handle”, “there will be no freedom”, “commitment is scary”. I guess they are happy being single. Some of they believe they have enough friends, and relationship will make them lose their friends over.
Not being in a relationship isn’t all bad!
There’s this big misconception out there that being single is an unfortunate relationship status. It could be worst if you are surrounded by couples everywhere. Nothing is more terrible than be asked by your family members during a family gather BBQ.
But, if you’re happy being single, then it is nobody’s matters.
Perhaps, it is not the right time at the right place, with the right person yet.
Certainly, it doesn’t mean they will be single forever. In fact, they don’t sound like they are losing any fun though. They have more time to think about their careers, travel plan and perhaps study a new skill.
A friend of mine who travelled overseas for a summer course in New York and she decided not to date anyone, even though she has been actively seeking for a relationship here in Sydney. It seen as a mistake to many of her friends, as they thought she could miss out finding her perfect partner. However, she explained that it wouldn’t be good to leave someone if she started seeing him for a few months. It is similar story for those who are travelling for work, holiday or knowing that they are going to move soon.
Another girl who I know that she has been in a relationship with a guy for more than a year, then break-up! So she could travel around the world by herself, especially he didn’t want to travel with her. They just weren’t ready for a committed relationship yet.
I also believe that the fear of commitment, is another shape blade that cut off relationship strings. It turns people to stay single instead. Simply they don’t want to put pressure on themselves.
Commitment requires further than celebrating anniversaries together, buying each other some little gifts; it means the couple need to decide things together such as moving, a wedding and even financially investment - buying a car or a house. Some will take it as they are not in position to progress to those stages, while others would wonder “Is he the right guy for me?”.
A common forgotten thing is that couples should speak to each other openly about their plans, their desires.
For singles and people are dating, an ideal relationship can be simply answered via a few direct questions. Most men find it easier to share their future. However, girls may find it is too confronting to ask him anything related to that topic. As she assumed it must be brought up by a man, rather than her.
I wonder if my girlfriend told her ex-boyfriend about the travel plan, and some discussion around that would make their relationship continues once she returned to Sydney.
Everything arise from the mind

Cat and Cat trends
I got a cat, she is Samantha and she is 6 months old now, a lovely little animal that comes from RSPCA
It has a great change for myself and my partner, we have become calmer. Since relationship is not always going upward, the cat definitely brings a sweet and fun extra bits to our relationship moving onward.
I filmed a little video how Samantha enjoys staying in our bed, she grows up so quickly and her nails are growing quite long and sharp which is the ONLY thing I wish I know how to trim her nails.
Hope you enjoys the video, leave a comment if you have anything to say.

Top 5 tips for using AdWords Grants for Not For Profit Clients
In Australia, an average of 444 people per charity (Huffington Post, Feb-2014) and generated $6.8 billion of annual charity income for 54,000 charities. We think there are too many charities around us, however it is definitely important to see how they make changes to our communities and support the ones in needs.
As a marketers for Not For Profit (NFP) organisation, you may have come across Google Solutions. As this tech guy has many tools that NFP organisation can use and enhance organisation's activities, including operation, management and marketing etc...
My first job when I worked as a part time employee for a local community organisation; we used Google for emails, intranet communication and data-base storage (At that time, Google Drive just launched) and many other cool online tools. We had used Google map to pin the locations of community centers. As a result, we identify the number of hours we spend for the area, as well as drawing a map to connect on-site employees to those locations. Having the data, the organisation could allocate resource and prioritize which areas required extra supports.
Now, on my current role in the advertising industry. I am continuing to use Google and working with a number of NFP clients. I have supports many NFP marketers to apply for Google Grants, a special program for Non-Profit Organisation.
I quoted what the page introduced about the grants: "Image what you could do with $10,000 USD of in kind advertising every month from AdWords, an online advertising solution from Google." For private institute and big corporates, the five figures advertising budget seems not enough even for a package of digital banner design; however, that budget is an awesome grants for a NFP organisation. Definitely, it is worth for the organisation to apply for and maintain the grant.
In this post, I would like to share my experience working on AdWords Grants for my client; including using the budget for:
- Promoting my client's mission and aim to spread the message to as many people as possible
- Recruiting people who are interested to my client's work and may make a donation.

Throughout a number of tests and experiments, I have summarized a few tips that I think marketers who are currently working in this field should know:
Tip no.1: Using keywords that most relevant, you should not bid on only brand terms. I have come across a few NFP clients and their reference for keywords selection would favour more for brand terms. In fact, it is a good start! And I suggest to use all of them in broad match-type. As broad keywords will help to capture as much data as possible. However, the marketers need to revise the keywords to understand what users are searching for and how it relevant to the organisation landing page.
Tip no.2: Having more than one landing page! They need to match different groups of keywords. As we group our keywords into different campaigns and adgroups, landing page need to address the user search queries.
Tip no.3: Optimizing your account at least one a week! It is important to grow the account with regular optimization and regular check on its performance. With bid limits as max $2 US, there is little room for bid adjustment. Nevertheless, the account still requires weekly check on trends and traffic volume. Unusual traffic volume may give marketers a better understanding of what is happening with competitors.
Tip no.4: AdWords Grants SEM strategy need to adhere to the content strategy. Content is where users will find it rationally to make the call for actions. Simply, SEM ads promote the calls, place a bridge to connect users to the charity. Users have the decision power whether they want to donate or do something for the organisation.
Tip no.5: Don't just always put max bid $2 on all keywords! If the keywords didn't drive traffic for you, even impressions are smaller than 100 per month. I highly recommend to stop bidding on them, delete and start looking for better quality keywords. The keywords don't drive clicks and impressions that they are called "bad ants". Bad ants don't bring much food back instead of lowering the overall account score.
Hopefully with all above tips, you can kick start your AdWords Grants confidently. There is an upper level for the successful marketers using up all $10,000 AdWords grants each month - the Grants Pro with $40,000. Feel free to reach out to me if you like to share your experience of using this simply powerful ads grant. Lastly, thank to Google!
